Influence of Soil Moisture vs. Climatic Factors in Pinus Halepensis Growth Variability in Spain: A Study with Remote Sensing and Modeled Data

The influence of soil water content on Aleppo pine growth variability is analyzed against climatic variables, using satellite and modeled moisture databases. study was made with a dendrochronological series 22 forest sites in Spain different environmental conditions. From the results correlation analysis, at both daily monthly scales, it observed that variable correlated most tree one better identified critical periods for this growth. maximum coefficients obtained rest variables were less than half moisture. Multiple linear regression analysis all combinations indicated important variable, showing lowest p-values cases. While identifying role moisture, noted there appreciable between sites, mainly modulated by availability, rather thermal These can contribute to new insights into ecohydrological dynamics methodological approach many other species.
